Week 7

WEEK 7 This week we stared with answering questions in teams where we split by a blue line where the boys were on the left and the girls on the right. There were rules that limited the girls to speak out loud and able to only use one book with no paper or pencil. The questions were about what we have learned so far in the course but with the restriction the boys were winning. The girls then found a way to answer with Siri, but the boys were already too ahead. It was obvious this was not fare and the winner was not going to get the actual prize because that wouldn't be academically fare. In the end, we talked about how we felt about this and both sides agreed that if they had the upper hand, they would definitely take it and benefit with it. I then thought about the theory where humans are just naturally evil. Ideally we would think humans will help the other knowing something is not fare, but i this example, whoever had the advantage would use if for themselves....

Week 6

Movement for Independence  We started in class talking about the problems of Eurocentrism and the Catholic church perspective     on colonialism. The main point that stuck to me about Eurocentrism is the point about who decides  what is correct or not. We tend to favorites Europeans making them seem superior to the other when  there is clearly other achievements in the world that isn't in Europe. when i think of other  achievements, another country created that is used today is the Chinese and how they created  Fireworks. We then talked about the Catholic church in their thoughts colonialism. We talked about  "social sin/ structural evil" which is when something is accepted by society but is not right or just.  When thinking about today, most of the production of our technology is a great example of this in the  current day. We buy the things we want and not think of how it was made.  most of our p...

Week 5

Founders Week  For founders week I did not do any of the events because I was doing homework before the weekend.  My family was comming up from Orange County and didn't want to do work while the where here.  the day we had off, I wrote  a paper for my Business 2000 class the whole day. the other days i was  doing the other class work that needed to be done. What we learned the week before is still  appreciated because with out the motivation the two founders had, we wouldn't have the sisters of  Notre Dame or the school. I had had interactions with the sisters of Notre Dame when I went to  church on campus.  They are very kind and loving; hugging everyone when we offer peace to each  other. I don't go to church on campus anymore because it is at 7pm on Sundays so I go to the other  churches around the area.
