Week 13

Chapter 23  Strayer starting with the picture of a space view of the Earth has many meanings behind it. I believe  the photo represents how if we look from an outside perspective we are one, but getting closer we are  divided and have different views.  Strayer talks about Anthropocene which broken up means Human  Era. this Era is where Human history is also affecting Earths history. As humans are progressing, we  are creating products that are either destroying or replacing the Earth's material. We as a society is  playing the role of God and controlling what is made or destroyed. The prime example is our cars  where we are releasing pollution into the atmosphere. However, we are changing that by making  hybrids or fully electric cars. Humans are also recreating land masses like island, rivers, hills, and  many more. Week 12

Chapter 21  In chapter 21, the book talks about the two main communistic countries that rose. These countries  were Russia and China. In the definition of Communism from Marx, there were only two ways to  make change to capitalism in where the people come together to reform or to violently act for the  change. however, for a Country to rebel and come communist, the country has to industrialize. This is  where Russia and China become interesting because they were not industrialized but rather more  traditional but were able to skip the step and become communist. The main goal for communism was  to have equality to everyone.
